Instructional Framework & Data-Driven Learning (K–9)

Instructional Focus Calendar (IFC)

Teachers in Kindergarten through 9th grade follow an Instructional Focus Calendar (IFC) aligned to the Florida B.E.S.T. Standards. During the first semester, instruction is intentionally focused on teaching and mastering grade-level standards in both Math and ELA.

Student Assessments

Following mid-year assessments, teachers analyze student performance data to identify areas of strength and areas needing improvement. Instruction is then strategically adjusted to focus on the specific standards where students demonstrated challenges.

This Targeted Approach Allows Teachers To:

  • Provide focused small group instruction

  • Close learning gaps

  • Reinforce key concepts

  • Ensure continuous academic growth for all students

A Data-Driven Approach to Learning

At CIS, we believe that consistent assessment and intentional instruction are key to student success. By combining standards-based teaching, technology integration, and ongoing data analysis, we ensure that every student receives the support and challenge needed to reach their full potential.

Our Academic Moto

Through intentional instruction, small group learning, and hands-on experiences, we ensure that every student is supported, challenged, and prepared for success.
