Preschool Program

Elementary Program (Kindergarten – 5th Grade)

At Children In the Spirit Christian School (CIS), our programs are thoughtfully designed to support students at every stage of their academic journey while continuing to nurture the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Through intentional instruction, small group learning, and hands-on experiences, we ensure that every student is supported, challenged, and prepared for success.

Our Preschool Program provides a strong foundation for early learners through a structured, center-based learning environment. Students engage in hands-on activities that promote exploration, creativity, and early academic development.

 

Our teachers utilize a combination of:

  • Starfall Curriculum 

  • HighScope Curriculum 

  • Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards 

  • CIS Curriculum Overview 

 

Student progress is monitored using:

​

  • Star Assessments 

  • CIS Preschool Assessment Tool 

 

Through these approaches, we ensure that all preschool students are developmentally prepared and equipped with the skills needed for a successful transition into elementary school.

Our Elementary Program focuses on building strong academic foundations through center-based and small group instruction. Teachers work closely with students in small groups to ensure understanding of concepts while providing continuous support and guidance.

 

Instruction is guided by:

  • Florida B.E.S.T. Standards 

  • HMH Curriculum (ELA) 

  • enVision Math Curriculum 

 

Social Studies is integrated within the ELA curriculum to promote deeper understanding, while Science is taught through monthly hands-on experiences, including:

  • Science discovery activities 

  • Experiments 

  • Educational field trips 

 

This approach allows students to actively engage in learning while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Middle School Program (6th – 9th Grade)

Student Support & Enrichment Services

Afterschool & Enrichment Programs

Our Middle School Program builds upon the strong academic foundation established in the elementary grades while increasing rigor, independence, and real-world application. Students are guided to think critically, take ownership of their learning, and grow in both character and responsibility.

Instruction is guided by:

  • Florida B.E.S.T. Standards 

  • HMH Curriculum (ELA), enhanced through literature studies and real-world articles 

  • enVision Math Curriculum 

 

Science instruction mirrors our elementary approach and is taught through engaging, hands-on experiences, including:

​

  • Science discovery activities 

  • Experiments 

  • Educational field trips 

 

In addition to core academics, students participate in specialized courses and enrichment opportunities, including:

​

  • Agriculture Lab, where students care for chickens and maintain a school garden 

  • Financial Literacy, equipping students with practical life skills and real-world financial understanding 

  • Bible Study, fostering spiritual growth, biblical understanding, and character development 

 

Through this comprehensive approach, our Middle School Program prepares students academically, spiritually, and practically—equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in high school and beyond.

At CIS, we believe every child deserves access to the support and encouragement needed to thrive. We offer a range of student support and enrichment services across grade levels to help meet students’ academic, developmental, emotional, and spiritual needs.

Our support services include:

​

  • ESE (Exceptional Student Education) services for students in Kindergarten through 9th grade 

  • Speech Pathology Services 

  • Occupational Therapy 

  • Student Counseling, which supports students’ emotional well-being and spiritual health 

 

These services allow us to provide individualized care and support while helping each student grow with confidence in a nurturing, faith-centered environment.

At CIS, learning and development extend beyond the school day. Our afterschool and enrichment programs provide students with additional opportunities to grow academically, socially, and spiritually in a safe and engaging environment.

  • CIS Aftercare Program (for CIS elementary students and feeder school students)
    Provides homework assistance, tutoring opportunities, and enrichment experiences. Students are also exposed to God’s world through fun-filled and educational field trips. 

​

  • CIS Cheer Program
    Builds teamwork, confidence, discipline, and school spirit while introducing students to the fundamentals of cheer. 

​

  • Boys and Girls Mentoring Program
    Supports students in character development, leadership, and personal growth through guidance, encouragement, and positive role modeling. 

​

  • Chess Club (Launching 2026–2027 School Year)
    Develops critical thinking, strategy, and problem-solving skills in a fun and engaging setting. 

​

  • Tech Club (Launching 2026–2027 School Year)
    Introduces students to technology, digital literacy, and innovation through hands-on learning experiences.
